Week of February 6-10, 2012

February 8, 2012

This week in science we are continuing to study the scientific method. We are getting to put that into practice by doing experiments such as seeing which liquid dissolves the color off of an M&M first.

In social studies we are finishing up the 13  colonies. We will have a test next Thursday, February 16. The students are in the process of completing a study  guide.

We will be having a Valentine’s Day party on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 3:00p.m. I believe that Ms. McClain is in the process of contacting parents that had earlier indicated they were interested in helping. I passed out a class list today for those that want to prepare Valentines. I told the class they do not have to bring Valentines but if they bring any they have to bring one for everyone–all or nothing. They will also need to bring something to get them in–a fancy box or a sack will do fine. They can’t bring the box before Tuesday as I have no place to store them.

Thanks,

C. Fielding

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 28 to DECEMBER 2, 2011

November 29, 2011

I hope everyone had a nice holiday. We have got some work to do before Christmas break.

Science: We are finishing up our study of animals and will be having a test next Friday, December 9.  We will finish up preparing a study guide tomorrow.

Social studies: We have finished one chapter on explorers and will be having a test next Wednesday, December 7. There is quite a bit of material to learn. The students received study guides today (Tuesday) and we went over them. I am encouraging them to study a little bit each day.

I am sorry that both tests fall close to each other but because I teach two subjects that sometimes happens. We will be doing review in class but each student should spend sometime studying outside of class.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Fielding
